Rupp 2012 Update
Welcome back to Halstead Kansas and The 2012 Adolph Rupp Invitational. Round 1, Game 1 of The Rupp, started with an upset - 3rd seed Douglas (7-2) losing to Garden Plain (4-5). Garden Plain got behind by double digits in the first quarter. At several time it seemed that the game could become lopsided. It was not until the last eight minutes of the game that the Owl's figured out how to overcome and win the game, 53-51. It turn out to be an exciting game, down to the last second.
Game 2 of The Rupp Invitational was another close game. The final score, Andale 53, Rose Hill 42, does not reflect the closeness of the game. Rose Hill came within 6 points in the last 8 minutes. Andale, now 7-1 in their season, will take on rival Garden Plain Friday, Jan. 20 at 6pm.
Game 3 Host of the Adolph Rupp, Halstead 4th seed took on Cheney, 5th seed. Cheney can out on fire, as the Dragons struggled in the first half. The second half found a much better play for Halstead, out scoring Cheney, but it was too little too late.
Game 4 of The Rupp was an interesting game between unbeaten Moundridge, 9-0 and Haven, 2-7. The first quarter found Moundridge struggling, the last 3 minutes would bring Mounridge trailing by two. Trey Unrau scored 11 unanswered points catching up and putting a fire in the Wildcats that would take them to a win.
Thursday Jan 19th will host Game 5 between Rose Hill and Douglas at 6pm. Game 6 will have Haven taking on Halstead at 7:30
Semi Finals Friday Jan 20 will host Andale vs. Garden Plain and Game 8, Moundridge vs Cheney.
